Ben serves as the Senior Philanthropy Manager for Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), where he manages the organization’s direct mail and data teams. Ben began his nonprofit career managing a Boys & Girls Club program site in North Chicago and later moved into the communications and development side of the organization. Since then, he’s worked in nonprofit development in various roles, from direct response to grant writing to major gifts. Prior to joining the CAP team, he served as Director of Development for the Kentucky 4-H Foundation.
Throughout his career, Ben has elevated the importance of connection, whether it be between program and development staff, building collaborative relationships across all areas of development, or building trust with donors. Ben has prioritized making connections through consistency, honesty, and genuine curiosity. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Ben serves on CAP’s Philanthropy Leadership Team and the local AFP of the Bluegrass Board of Directors. Outside of work, you can find Ben outdoors somewhere in Eastern Kentucky or in the kitchen with his wife and three kids.
