As co-founder, managing partner & chief strategist of IPM Advancement, Russ Phaneuf serves as principal fundraising strategist, award-winning creative director, and lead consultant for the company. He has spent more than 25 years in nonprofit fundraising with key roles in higher education development at the University of Hartford, Northern Arizona University, and Thunderbird School of Global Management. Since founding IPM, he has worked with clients including the Everglades Foundation, the Brady Campaign and Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, ASME Foundation, the Autism Society of America, and others. Russ has been a finalist for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) “Rising Star” award, and he has earned an AMA Spectrum Award recognizing outstanding collateral. He has also presented on strategic communications and constituent engagement for CASE, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the National League of Cities. In 2020, he created and began hosting “NPFX: The Nonprofit Fundraising Exchange,” which is now in its sixth season and has been recognized as a Top 10 podcast in its category.
