Director, Annual Giving
National Coast Guard Museum Association
Catherine Janney joined the National Coast Guard Museum Association in 2016 after returning home to southeastern Connecticut. Earning a bachelor’s degree (Physical Education) and master’s degree (Sports Management) from Springfield College, she started her career in Sports Management working at the Women’s Sports Foundation in New York, NY and USA Volleyball in Colorado Springs, CO. In 2005, she moved to Washington, D.C. transitioning her sponsorship and client servicing skills to work in fundraising at the USO where she specialized in corporate philanthropy, grant writing and cause-related marketing. Currently, as the Director of Annual Giving at the Museum Association, she continues to expand her experience and knowledge in direct response fundraising and will soon be launching a membership program for the future museum. The forthcoming National Coast Guard Museum is a passion project she is grateful to be part of and views her work there as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a national museum that will honor and memorialize the incredible work done by the men and women of the United States Coast Guard.
