Director, Digital Advocacy & Engagement
Natural Resources Defense Council
Claire Morgenstern is the director of digital advocacy and engagement for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the NRDC Action Fund, where she harnesses the power of grassroots advocacy to tackle the most critical issues facing our planet, building campaigns that mobilize people to take action, drive real policy change, and raise funds to continue the fight for our environment.
A writer and editor by trade, she’s been designing digital advocacy and fundraising campaigns for the last 15 years, and building NRDC’s digital organizing program, All In, from the ground up since 2018. She joined NRDC’s membership department as its first digital advocacy and fundraising writer and has since driven the expansion of the organization’s advocacy work into higher-bar advocacy opportunities, GOTV, and other strategies to attract and build relationships with activists and inspire them to give. Outside of NRDC, she also provides contract support to organizations who want to grow their digital organizing programs.
Prior to NRDC, she managed advocacy content and communications at the Conservation Law Foundation and worked as a freelance journalist. She has a B.A. in Professional and Creative Writing and Hispanic Studies from Carnegie Mellon University.
